Myth: Rajab is a “sacred” month where all sins are automatically forgiven.
Fact: Rajab is indeed one of the four sacred months in Islam, where good deeds are more rewarding, and sins are more severe. However, sins are not automatically forgiven just because it is Rajab repentance and effort are still required.
Myth: Performing 30 Rakat Salah (Salat al-Raghaib) in Rajab brings immense rewards.
Fact: The practice of Salat al-Raghaib, often performed on the first Thursday night of Rajab, has no authentic basis in Islam. It is considered an innovation (bid’ah) by many scholars.
Myth: The Battle of Badr occurred in Rajab.
Fact: This is a Common Myth and circulates. The Battle of Badr took place in Ramadan, not in Rajab, according to authentic historical accounts.
Myth: Sacrificing an animal in Rajab has extra blessings.
Fact: The act of offering a sacrifice in Rajab, known as "Rajabiyyah," is not established in Islam. It was a pre-Islamic Arab tradition and has no basis in Islamic teachings.
Myth: Celebrating the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) birth in Rajab is Sunnah.
Fact: The Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) birth month is not confirmed as Rajab, and celebrating his birth is not a prescribed act of worship in Islam.
