Salat al-Janazah

The funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah) is performed for a deceased Muslim.

Abu Hurairah reported:

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever attends the funeral until the prayer is offered will have a reward equal to one Qirat, and whoever attends until (the body) is buried will have a reward equal to two Qirats.’ It was asked: ‘What are two Qirats?’ He said: ‘Like two great mountains.'”
