White Vaginal Discharge Effect on Salah and Ghusl Ruling

Question

Can you pray if you have white vaginal discharge? or do i have to take ghusl everytime as it is very difficult for me to do ghusl 5 times a day.

Bottom Line

Yes, you can pray with white type of discharge. It is pure, so clothing does not need washing. However, it breaks wudu, and ablution must be renewed within each prayer time.

Quick Answer

White or yellowish vaginal discharge that comes from the uterus is tahir (pure). A woman does not need to change her clothes before prayer. However, since it exits from the private parts, it nullifies wudu, so a new ablution is required for each prayer time.

Key Points
  • White discharge is pure and does not make clothes najis.
  • It breaks wudu, so fresh ablution is required.
  • Wudu remains valid for the duration of one prayer time, even if discharge continues.
  • No ghusl is required for normal discharge.
  • Only sexual fluid (maniy) released with climax requires ghusl.

Detailed Answer

  1. Types of Discharge

    • Discharge from the uterus is considered tahir (pure).

    • Discharge from the urethra (like urine) is najis (impure).

  2. Effect on Purity

    • Vaginal discharge from the uterus does not make clothing impure. Prayer is valid without washing or changing garments.

  3. Effect on Wudu

    • Discharge requires wudu for each prayer.

    • A woman should perform wudu after the prayer time begins, and it remains valid until that prayer time ends even if discharge continues.

    • Two obligatory prayers cannot be offered with one wudu, unless there is a valid reason for combining prayers.

What That Means for You

If you have white or yellow discharge, you can still pray without changing your clothes. Just make sure to perform a fresh wudu once the time for each prayer enters, and that ablution covers all your worship until the next prayer time.

And Allah knows best
