Arabic: نسب, lit. ‘lineage‘ is a patronymic or matronymic, or a series thereof. It indicates the person’s heritage by the word ibn (ابن “son of”, colloquially bin) or ibnat (“daughter of”, also بنت bint, abbreviated bte.).
