Organ donation is generally permissible in Islam, provided certain conditions are met. According to the Islamic Fiqh Council and numerous scholars, organ donation is allowed if:
- It does not lead to the death of the donor.
- The donor or their family consents to the donation.
- It is done to save a life or improve essential functions like sight or organ health.
- The donor’s body is respected, and no organs vital to life, like the heart, are donated while the donor is alive.
